The Farm A Gathering Place

This venue is such a hidden gem in the Blue Ridge mountains. If you are looking for a barn wedding venue in Asheville that still brings a formal elegance, this is a really great choice. It's located only 10 miles from the heart of downtown Asheville which makes it a great space for out-of-town guests who need to Uber to the venue. Amanda and Brad opted in for busing their guests to the wedding on private charter buses. They also have seven cabins that you can rent out for some of your family and bridal party. These are located just a short walk from the venue itself. Those are a great option so that the bridal party is already present and ready to go when it's time for photos. It's a big plus when people and guests don't have to deal with traveling to and from- especially if there will be alcohol.

The Backstory

The owners, Myron and Bev, moved to the area in 1977. Their main goal was to purchase a farm just to raise their horses and enjoy their new farm-style life. By some turn of events, they began venturing into the event business. From there, they transformed their small farm into a gorgeous, rustic wedding venue in Asheville. In fact, it's one of the most sought venues in the area. Today, they have an outstanding team of vendors who do the backbone of the venue work so the two of them can enjoy their retirement and can spend more time with their sweet grandkids!

The Venue Team

Another of the many reasons why we love getting to work here is their incredible vendor team. From the beginning of our time working with them for Amanda and Brad's wedding, the line of communication was strong and they made sure to take care of us throughout the entire process. All of the working vendors were so accommodating to use, especially during the July heat. We needed way too many cups of ice water!

The Features

Obviously, this is the most important part of any wedding venue. From my own experience as a bride, the toughest part was finding a venue that catered to every single need you and your partner have. It's all about balance- what are the things that you absolutely must have? Are you willing to trade in one of those things for something else that one venue offers? That's a conversation for another day, however!

For this post, I'm listing all the best reasons why you should consider The Farm A Gathering Place for your wedding day.

Here are some of our favorite features:

  • The guest cabins and cottages- also used by the bride and groom as a "getting ready space
  • Their newest feature, the outdoor pavilion that seats 100+ guests- natural light, outdoors while sheltering guests from inclement weather!
  • Our favorite of all, the repurposed chicken coop turned into a rustic, petite chapel- aka the "Chicken Chapel"
  • The impeccable flower gardens across the venue grounds
  • Their in-house chefs whose focus is farm-to-table, local food for all of your guests to enjoy
