Point Lookout Vineyards is one of Asheville's best venues with a view. It's truly a breathtaking spot and comes highly recommended by both brides as well as vendors. Below is more of why we love it there and why you should consider the space for your own upcoming wedding!
Point Lookout Vineyards Wedding
Lucy and Wesley's wedding was something straight out of a magazine. No, seriously. It was one of the most gorgeous weddings I believe I have shot in my entire career. I met Lucy and Wes at their engagement session the year before, and to my surprise, Lucy and I have the exact same birthday! Talk about a match made in heaven right from the start. Not only that, but their wedding date was on Halloween. The same day of the year that my husband and I got married (we are huge Halloween fans!). With that being said, I just knew what a perfect fit I was to be their wedding photographer and that is always so important to me when working with my clients.
The venue itself is probably the best mountain view venue in Asheville. It nearly has 180 mountain views and it's truly breathtaking when you reach the top and overlook the Blue Ridge Parkway. We've had the opportunity to shoot at several venues in the area overlooking the mountains, but this one certainly is at the top of our list.
The Vineyards
The vineyards go as far as the eye can see and you have the full ability to use them for any and all wedding photos you would like. A venue staff member came and picked us up on a golf cart and drove us to any space we wanted to use for couples' portraits. At the top of the hill sits a large rock that our bride and groom were able to climb atop. The sun set right behind them and we caught some awesome images that I'm still awing over today.
Reception Pavillon
The pavilion is open on all sides, letting natural light and fresh air flow. The best part is how it overlooks the mountains and allows guests to feel safe under the cover while simultaneously protecting them from rain and sun. It's a huge space so there is a ton of room for all different kinds of wedding vendors- DJ, bar, photobooth, etc. Another bonus is the retractable walls in case of weather or temperature changes! Since Lucy and Wesley's wedding was late October, it ended up getting chilly and they decided to drop the walls so everyone could enjoy dancing for the night.
