Yacht Engagement Photos

Shei and Ben decided on their yacht engagement photos after COVID struck and we were unable to shoot their wedding. They had planned an intimate, Washington D.C wedding but unfortunately, the pandemic had other plans. The wedding date fell directly in the heart of the outbreak and forced the two of them to cancel their nuptials instead. With that being said, we were still more than excited to shoot their engagement session as a way to honor their love (safely). Shei let me know that Ben was quite the captain, and they shared a deep love for the water. And without a doubt, I absolutely agreed to hop on the boat with them and catch some photos. They even thought to bring a sweet charcuterie setup and champagne. Although it wasn't the wedding they had planned, it was still so much fun. We had an incredible time as the sun set behind the water and the two exchanged champagne toasts.

Maryland Wedding Photographer

Something that most people don't know about me is that in another lifetime (it seems) I was a Maryland wedding photographer. I had the incredible pleasure of living right outside of D.C. and working as a wedding photographer and White House News Photographer. So it was such an honor to travel back up in the area and capture this engagement session. Our session location was on the coast of Maryland, in a place called Owings Beach. And after we were finished, we headed to a nearby seafood restaurant and had some incredible crab legs on the pier as the sun literally went down behind us. Such an amazing experience and just another reason why I am so thankful for this job!
