On our last visit into Ireland, we had the incredible pleasure of shooting at The Clonabreany House in Co. Meath. When I tell you it absolutely blew us away, I simply mean it. It's an upscale, luxury estate venue in the Irish countryside- and something you would imagine on the cover of Italian Vogue Weddings. Every single detail of the venue was perfectly planned out, making it the perfect place for you to host your wedding day. Below, I'll cover all the details of the venue and what to expect if you are interested in booking with them for your own destination Ireland wedding!

The Clonabreany House in Meath Ireland

When it comes to finding the perfect wedding venue, Clonabreany House in Meath, Ireland, stands out as a true gem. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Irish countryside, this location offers couples an enchanting setting to exchange their vows and really embrance those Irish vibes. From its architecture to its warm hospitality, Clonabreany House is an extraordinary choice that truly captures the spirit of romance.

Co. Meath Ireland

Meath, often referred to as the "Royal County of Ireland," is known for its rich history and stunning landscapes. Clonabreany House is ideally located to explore this part of the region. Take an afternoon walk through the surrounding countryside, visit the nearby heritage sites such as the ancient passage tomb of Newgrange or the Hill of Tara, or immerse yourself in the fun Irish local culture (I'm looking at you, fish 'n chips!). The venue's location offers the perfect blend of tranquility and accessibility, providing you and your guests with a true taste of Ireland's natural and cultural heritage. It's roughly an hour outside of Dublin, so you'll likely need to rent a car or call a taxi to visit. So be sure to plan that ahead of time!

Meath is also where another of our favorite Irish venues resides- The Loughcrew Estate. You don't need to stay here to visit! It's a short 15 minute drive from the Clonabreany and you can walk through their historic gardens and view the church ruins which they are famously known for.

What The Estate Offers

Accommodations

Where do I start?! Aside from the main estate, I would personally say that the most eye-catching part of the venue is the grounds. There are over 1,000 acres to the property, and although you'll only get to use a few of them, they are just breathtaking. The main grounds leading from the Clonabreany House to the accommodations across the path are super accessible to walk. Once you cross the dirt road, you'll come to the Georgian houses where guests will stay. These rooms were original coaching houses which were flipped and turned into suites that can hold up to 90 guests.

One of the most fun parts of the estate is the restaurant and bar they provide just right outside the accommodation suites. It makes it so easy for your guests to have a safe and fun time celebrating with the two of you!

When attending a destination wedding, guests really love when they don't have to fuss or worry about too much traveling throughout the stay. It's a huge plus when a venue offers everything on-site and it makes for a much more enjoyable trip.

Exceptional Team of Wedding Professional

When we first arrived at the estate, we were met outside by the venue's staff. They immediately made us feel welcome and gave us a tour of the venue's spaces. We had such a wonderful time working with them and I truly mean that. I would highly recommend them to any of my destination brides looking for a venue that can really accommodate any style wedding. It's beyond hard to plan a wedding overseas and it's great knowing you have someone who is there for you to help the process go along smoothly.

The team at Clonabreany House is committed to making sure that your wedding day is flawless from start to finish. Their dedicated and experienced wedding coordinators will work closely with you to plan every aspect of your celebration, from designing the decor to organizing catering and accommodation. They offer a range of wedding packages tailored to suit various budgets and requirements, ensuring that every couple's dream wedding becomes a reality.

Did I mention we LOVE them??

Photo Opportunities

This one might be obvious but I believe it's worth mentioning somewhere in this post. When you plan a destination wedding and spend thousands of dollars on a venue, it's SO important to be able to capture that venue in every aspect possible. It's incredibly important to plan enough time around the estate for photos of you and your newlywed. Whether that be the night before or the morning of or after- use all the time you paid for your stay to your fullest advantage.

With that being said, the Clonabreany has an unreal amount of photo opportunities to utilize for these moments. In fact, there are so many options that we didn't even get the chance to use them all while we were shooting there!

Here are all the places we saw that you could potentially use for couples photos:

  • Upstairs Bridal/Honeymoon Suite and Sitting Area
  • Indoor Staircase with Chandelier
  • The Marquee
  • Outside and around the Clonabreany House
  • Back patio area that includes a gorgeous, ivy-covered arbor as well as elegant tables and chairs
  • Several spots with a countryside view
  • The Courtyard area, including the tunnel
  • The Bar and Bar areas
  • Chapel/Ceremony area
  • All of the gardens that walk through and around the property, including several ponds and arbors.

One of our favorite spots actually ended up being this glorious clover patch located to the side of the outdoor ceremony arbor. It had a perfect sunset view and was just perfect for the overall vibe of this summer wedding.
