Most of the time, I honestly forget to tell my story as a Washington DC event photographer. My career originally began in the big city. when I was only eighteen years old. Short story, I haven’t always been a wedding photographer! My story actually started long before I began my full-time wedding photography career.
I picked up a camera in 10th grade for an online photography class. Honestly, I decided to take that class solely because I wanted to be able to leave campus for lunch. I still laugh about that now. Like most amateurs, I made my close friends model for me. But luckily for you, I’m not going to share those images here. After a couple of years of falling in love with the creative aspect, I started charging REAL money for my sessions. At this time, I had absolutely no intention of doing photography full-time. And was planning on attending a four-year college to major in foreign language. Which I still love, by the way!
Washington DC Event Photographer
I applied for a photo internship a few months before I was planning on graduating high school. I finished the application, closed the laptop, and I FORGOT ABOUT IT. Until I received the acceptance call!
I was officially a White House News Photographer.
Over the next few months, I shadowed the incredibly talented event photographer, John Harrington. Learning and growing as a photographer. While simultaneously getting to photograph the actual President of the United States! I fell in love with the city. And proudly still have lots of DC clients and brides.
North Carolina Wedding Photographer
After finishing the internship, I made the tough decision to move back to North Carolina. Shortly after, I began photographing weddings full-time. But I have absolutely no regrets!
Being a Washington, DC event photographer was a major part of my journey into wedding photography. I wouldn’t change a single moment!

As of today, I am a full-time wedding photographer, blogger, and mama-to-be.
