Because of the pandemic, our travel is limited and we haven’t been able to get into the city for Washington, DC engagement photos. However, we are still reminiscing over this rooftop session from last year! Duanecia and Michell are probably one of the cutest couples of all time. I think I told them that 100 times during our shoot. But truly, they are so gorgeous and so in love. It radiates through the images of the two of them. And I can only hope I’ll be lucky enough to continue working with them throughout the years!
WASHINGTON DC ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS
I picked the location of the shoot. Although there are so many incredible locations throughout the city, the John F. Kennedy Center is one of my favorite engagement and wedding spots of all. It’s true that the view from the balcony just cannot be beaten. It’s a 360-degree view of both downtown Washington, DC, and Virginia (across the water!). So, obviously, you can capture a pretty kickass sunset. We had an overcast day, so no sunset for us! But I cannot wait to go back in the future and capture one. Believe me, it will happen.
Also, I was pretty surprised that we were the only people on the balcony during a gorgeous summer day. That’s a pretty big plus for photographers. I totally don’t love spending hours editing out people in the background. We had the entire place to ourselves and my creativity was running wild. A few of the images below are inspired by the work of Sam Hurd. DC’s most popular wedding photographer and my personal favorite. Always give credit where credit is due. My creative inspiration stems from my love for Sam’s images. I discovered him back in 2013 when I was just getting into the industry. And I have been a loyal follower ever since!
