Kayla and Jimmy’s sunset engagement photos were a little unplanned, to be honest. However, you won’t see me complaining about an incredible golden hour session. When we first arrived at Biltmore, it was coming an absolute downpour. My shoes and socks were soaked. And my camera bag had water dripping down my back. That said, we were pretty much expecting a rainy engagement session. I always carry my two clear umbrellas in the back of my car just for safety. But luckily for us, the sun started peaking out and we got to enjoy the most beautiful sunset.
Biltmore Engagement Session
For those of you who are around often, you know that the Biltmore Estate is one of my most trafficked spots for engagement sessions. Rightfully so, it’s my favorite spot in the Asheville area. People travel from all across the states and even from out of the country to see the castle up close. The locals just happen to be lucky enough to use the grounds anytime they’d like. For us, I have a season pass. So that means I can come and go as I please. I always highly recommend Biltmore as an engagement session location and love going anytime I can!
Sunset Engagement Photos
Although the Biltmore is a showstopper, the sunset is truly the main character. Most of the time, we work our location around the sun so that we can get the perfect backdrop. At the time of Kayla and Jimmy’s session, Western North Carolina was experiencing a wave of smoke all the way from the West Coast. Because of that, the mountain views were foggy and not as prominent as usual. Even though Kayla was dying for some views, we ended up with some gorgeous moody, smoky photos anyway.
I always try and make the best of our situation, no matter the weather!
