Lucy and Wesley chose to have a North Carolina Arboretum engagement session. When I suggested the location to them, Lucy told me it had a special meaning. Their dog took her first swim at the park!
For the most part, lots of my couples are looking for an Asheville based location that isn’t necessarily encompassed by buildings or city skylines. Most know what AVL is famously known for. It’s gorgeous Blue Ridge Parkway- a mountain view road that stretches for 469 miles. Check out our other mountain view engagement sessions here.
Lucy and Wesley were a total fit for us. They are getting married ON Halloween day. And as most of you know, that’s our anniversary as well! Halloween weddings are our jam. Our unique photography style goes great with couples who want their photos to be outside the box.
Not to mention, Wesley proposed with a gorgeous and very unique amethyst engagement ring. Y’all, my heart LOVES a unique style engagement ring. I, myself, rock a coffin-shaped, natural black diamond ring. So I always get a little excited when my couples show off their colored stones.
Having a North Carolina Arboretum Engagement Session
The grounds are surprisingly very open to photography and local commercial photographers. For engagement sessions, you aren’t required to have a permit. But to have an actual elopement or wedding, there is a fee. It is honestly a great venue choice, especially if you want to be surrounded by foliage and nature. The venue itself doesn’t give off “event center” vibes. It truly feels like you are getting married right in the center of the greatest parts of Asheville nature. The forest meadow also offers a nice field-style ceremony location. It also has a small view of the Blue Ridge mountains.
