Meridian Hill Park is our go-to engagement session spot in Washington, DC. Olivia and Cody found us through Instagram, our hot spot for meeting most of our clients. They are having a Baltimore wedding. But wanted to plan their engagement photos somewhere in the city of D.C.
She asked for our recommendation because she wanted something with an earthy feel. It was a no-brainer to choose this spot!
Meridian Hill Park Engagement
If you are looking for places around DC with a nature vibe or the best park in DC, Meridian is the spot to be. With Italian style gardens and structures, the park feels like it seriously doesn’t belong in the middle of the big city in the US.
And it’s a perfect spot for engagement photos, a walk with your hubby, or just to sit on a bench and do some homework. Our favorite part, however, is the absolutely STUNNING water fountain that stretches over half of the park’s length. When it’s running in summer (we missed it because this was a fall session!) it will take your breath away.
Probably literally- because we all know that the Washington, DC heat can be brutal during the summer months.
And if you are still looking for the perfect wedding venue, Meridian Hill Park also serves as one of the best spots to elope in DC. If you’re bringing in out of town guests, you are surrounded by gorgeous hotels all down 16th street. Just a short Uber away from the White House.
Olivia and Cody brought their monogrammed bridal shot glasses and shared a miniature Jim Bean to celebrate their engagement!
We started shooting about an hour or so before sunset to capture a sunset session. I mean seriously, just LOOK at that golden light behind them!
