This downtown Charlotte engagement session is one of our all-time favorites. When making engagement photo plans with my clients, I always try and suggest they pick somewhere meaningful. After all, these images signify your relationship. They show your love in it’s own, unique way. So when Sam suggested this location, I was thrilled.
Nick owns a Charlotte, NC pizzeria. It’s located right downtown. When we shot these, COVID had just entered the states. Most states were on lockdown and the restaurant had shut down it’s dine-in seating for the time being. This made it the perfect spot to showcase just the two of them.
We moved all tables to the side. Sam set up a table for two with their favorite slices and some wine glasses. Then, the two of them just enjoyed their pizza. It was like I wasn’t even there! And that is always how I hope for my sessions to go. I just want to be a fly on the wall while my couples are engulfed in one another.

After sharing two slices of pizza, we moved across the street to the park. They wanted two locations for a little bit of diversity in their gallery. Although it was April, it was HOT. But we kept those masks on the entire time! Safety first, y’all. At this point, we are pretty used to wearing the masks for every session we have. We long for a COVID-free world again!

Park diversity is one of our favorite things about downtown Charlotte. Or just the Charlotte area in general! There are all kinds of awesome options. Such as Romare Bearden park from this engagement session with Lauren and Stephen, or midtown park if you want a city skyline. Most offer the best of both worlds: a city view with a foliage option!
