If you are here often, you know my obsession with city engagement photos. I LOVE putting a couple on a rooftop and dancing around with a skyline in the background. It’s seriously so surreal to me overlooking buildings for miles. Skyline views for an engagement session is such a vibe. And truly, exactly on-brand for me and my photography business.
Asheville Engagement Photographer
I was born in Asheville and raised about 30 minutes outside in a small town called Burnsville. However, AVL has always been right in our back door. Although it isn’t too big of a city, it’s honestly just the right amount of urban and nature combined. It’s truly a hidden gem in the states. People come from all over the world to see the Blue Ridge Mountains and Biltmore Estate.
City Engagement Photos
I’m so very lucky to be able to take my job anywhere. Although I do spend a lot of time on the computer at my home office, every shoot in the field is different. I do some Biltmore engagement sessions, NC Arboretum engagement sessions, and even Waterfall elopements in Asheville. Every location is new, and I get to tell so many different love stories all across Western North Carolina. However, my heart just overflows with happiness for a city shoot.
We had really hoped for sunset for Carrie and Mark’s shoot. However, we got rain instead! I always keep two spare clear umbrellas in the trunk for an emergency rain plan, but by the time we got up to the roof, the rain had stopped. Even though we didn’t get a golden hour, the rain brought in some of the most gorgeous clouds I have ever seen. They showcased the city skyline perfectly and made gorgeous scenery.
