Charlotte, NC Wedding Venue
The Alexander Homestead Wedding Venue in Charlotte, North Carolina is one of our all-time favorite venues. Lauren and Stephen originally had other plans for their big day. They had planned to wed at another local venue, but due to COVID, they had to scramble last minute to find another location. But it’s true that things work out for a reason! After all of the pandemic related stress, everything worked out beautifully.
I met the two of them earlier in the year for their city engagement session. Which you should absolutely check out here! We hit it off immediately because we were all big Halloween fans.
Perks of Alexander Homestead Wedding Venue
Seriously, where do I even start? The venue itself consists of three separate areas that all tie into one. Firstly, the bed and breakfast area that is used for a bridal suite. It’s a gorgeous space with lots of natural light- making getting ready photos a dream for us! The room is open, with lots of space for bridesmaids and their bags. They also have a little kitchenette so you don’t have to leave the premises for wedding day snacks (those are completely necessary, by the way).
Secondly, the ceremony garden space is absolutely to-die-for. It may be one of my favorite ceremony spots I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. It’s an intimate area, surrounded by gardens and flowers. It honestly feels like you are right in the center of a garden.
Lastly, the open concept reception barn. This is probably the main attraction of the venue. The barn doors open wide on one side so guests can mingle in the gardens and then head back to the bar for drinks. This also worked very well with the social distancing guidelines (thanks, COVID).
